Housing Opportunities Program

The Housing Opportunities Program is a rapid re-housing pilot program, launched in the spring of 2016 and continuing through June 2018. This city-funded program provides 12-month rental subsidies and support services to 30 hard-working homeless adults. Similar programs across the country have shown that temporary financial assistance combined with individually-tailored social support can be an incredibly effective means of combating homelessness and restoring self-sufficiency.

In addition to the rental subsidy and case management components, each of our program participants will receive money management services to facilitate timely payment of their portion of the rent. We have also partnered with some of San Francisco's finest vocational development providers so that all of our fully-employed participants can continue working and growing in their careers.

Referrals for the program are not currently open.

To welcome program participants into their new homes, ECS would like to provide basic home essentials like towel, lamps, vacuum, hangers, etc. Check out the Amazon Wish List to see how you can share the housewarming spirit by making a gift! Email us at info@ecs-sf.org if you would like to donate something from the Amazon Wish List or a similar item. We’ll need your name and address to send an acknowledgment letter with our tax information (and Amazon doesn’t share it with us!).

For Property Owners and Property Managers interested in partnering with our program, please see this flyer for more information, or contact:
