ECS Benefits Information 2006

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are entitled to the following benefits. Coverage begins on the first day of the month following your date of hire.

Episcopal Community Services pays 100% of the employee premium for the following benefits:

MEDICAL - ECS provides coverage under either the Kaiser HMO or the Health Net HMO plan. ECS pays 100% of the employee premium for Kaiser HMO. Health Net is available at partial cost to employee. Coverage for dependents and/or domestic partners is available, paid for by the employee through "pre-tax" payroll deduction.

DENTAL - ECS provides DMO or PPO coverage through Aetna U.S. Healthcare.

LONG-TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE - In addition to State Disability and Worker's Compensation Insurance, ECS provides you with long-term disability insurance through Jefferson Pilot Financial. This insurance will continue to cover you with a percentage of your income (67%) after State Disability and Workers' Compensation benefits expire.

LIFE INSURANCE - ECS provides you with $25,000 life insurance coverage through Jefferson Pilot Financial, payable to the beneficiary of your choice.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM - A confidential and independent program designed to provide employees with benefits that help balance their professional and personal lives.

Paid Time Off: HOLIDAYS - ECS recognizes 10 paid holidays, and employees are entitled to two (2) Floating Holidays in the first and second years of employment, and four (4) Floating Holidays beginning in the third year of employment. SICK LEAVE - ECS pays up to 10 days of sick leave per year. VACATION - During the first four (4) years of service, non-union employees are entitled to three (3) weeks of paid vacation. Union employees are entitled to two (2) weeks of paid vacation during the first year of service and from the 2nd year to the 4th year are entitled to three (3) weeks of paid vacation. Beginning with the 5th year of service, all employees are entitled to four (4) weeks vacation. Beginning with the 6th year of service, all employees are entitled to five (5) weeks of vacation. These benefits are prorated for part-time employees.

EDUCATION REIMBURSEMENT: Reimbursement of up to $250.00 per year for eligible employees for costs associated with job-related education and training. This benefit is prorated for part-time employees.

Other Benefits which may include an employee contribution:

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT PLAN - A "tax-advantaged" way to pay out-of-pocket expenses for transit expenses, dependent care, and health care costs not covered by the medical or dental plans.

403 (B) RETIREMENT PLAN - ECS provides an agency sponsored retirement plan with an employer match of up to 1% of annual wages after first 90 days of employment. ECS provides a discretionary employer paid contribution after 6 months of employment.

COBRA - The term used to refer to the continuation of health care benefits once employment with ECS ends. You will be given the opportunity to purchase continued medical and dental coverage under the medical plans offered by ECS when your employment with ECS ends.
